Mike Huckabee is shocked he has to see gay couples on TV. In a conversation with Concerned Women for America (CWA) head Penny Nance yesterday, Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and Republican presidential candidate, lamented “we’re now even seeing television commercials portraying same-sex couples, that’s something I guess I didn’t expect to see anytime soon.”

Nance, as Right Wing Watch reports, is spearheading “CWA’s new campaign, Willing 2 Stand, designed to reach out to young people on their opposition to abortion rights and marriage equality.”

During most of the interview, Nance maintained that conservatives on college campuses were “bullied” and had trouble articulating their views on topics like gay rights.

Huckabee, who has become an increasingly polarizing figure, has been linked to David Lane, the evangelical political organizer who last week published an op-ed demanding his followers “Wage war to restore a Christian America” for the “pagan onslaught imposing homosexual marriage.”

Last year, Huckabee was the first to offer support by hosting Rep. Todd Akin after his claims of “legitimate rape.”

On the day of the tragic Sandy Hook shooting, which left 20 first-grade children and six adults murdered, Huckabee, a Fox News host and ordained Baptist minister, proclaimed it happened because “we’ve systematically removed God from our schools.”

And earlier last year, Huckabee led the anti-gay “Eat at Chick-fil-A Day.

Mike Huckabee is a huckster. When the conservative Christians in this country denounce hate as a sin, then they might get me to listen to them. But they won't. Their entire "side" of the argument relies on the "Us vs. Them" philosophy.

This is the rabid reich-wing's response to "the love that dare not speak its name." A line from Two Loves (poem by Lord Alfred Douglas) referenced at Oscar Wilde's trial on Gross Indecency. No- we won't be quiet and hide anymore.

Hmmmm… trying to remember where in the Bible Jesus complained about having to be inconvenienced with seeing people whom he didn't like. Sorry Mike, you shouldn't thump your chest and call yourself a Christian if you don't know how to be Christ-like.
