If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that the progressive agenda moves forward when the people are ready for change — when the interest and the will is ready. Look at the 2008 election of Barack Obama. Or same-sex marriage equality.

This graphic shows the volume of searches for “gun control” on Google  during and between major shootings and the 2008 election, and then, Friday’s Newtown, Connecticut shooting.

Clearly, the American people are ready.

Which is why we can pass gun control now.

It’s not the solution, but it’s a part of the solution.
