Saturday was America’s first (and, if gun “enthusiasts” are smart, last) national “Gun Appreciation Day,” resulting in the murders of 32 people who were shot to death, and another 47 shot and wounded but survived, for a total of 79 shootings (plus, a dog.)

David Waldman writing at Daily Kos did his homework — a large task, we know, because we tried it and came up with this — and searched Google News for incidents of gun violence. While he notes his list is “not comprehensive,” it’s an excellent start — which means likely, sadly, there are more incidents not included in this total.
“I came up with a list of 70 separate incidents in 30 states and the District of Columbia, killing a total of 32 people and wounding 47 more,” Waldman notes.
