In the beginning, there was a Twitter hashtag: #lgbtfacts. But what was on this Twitter timeline was anything but fact. Let me give you a taste of the poison:

“Pedophile priests in the Church are closet liberal homosexuals acting out fantasy & trying to tarnish Church’s rep #LGBTfacts #lgbt #ssm.”

“In fact, AIDS in America originated in a small group of homosexual men in San Francisco, LA & NY. #LGBTfacts #lgbt #ssm #no4m #p2 #tcot.”

But some clever people chanced upon the gay-bashing hashtag, and have taken it over. The haters have dubbed them the “gaystapo” and you are all invited to join. “Combat bigotry with parody!” Is the message of the day, and it is working.

Here’s a taste of some of the tweets you’re missing as the pro- LGBT tweeters fight back:

“When encountering a homosexual in the wild, maintain eye contact to avert fashion attack. Submissive behavior may help, too.”

“Homosexuals will break into your house, seduce your teenage kids, and rearrange the furniture to really open up the living room”

“Homosexuals were among the first sexuals to walk fully upright.”

“Homosexuals can be discovered by looking for special glitter glands on the underside of their tongues. #LGBTfacts #lgbt #ssm #no4m #tcot #p2”

You get the idea. So come play. Smother hate with humor. Just add #lgbtfacts to your humorous tweets and help shut down hate with a smile and a giggle.
