Erick Erickson says of a Dollar General employee who reportedly beat a customer’s child with a belt about 25 times, “I think we should give the employee a medal, not send her to jail.” Erickson is the radical right wing co-founder of RedState, an online Tea Party-focused news and opinion site, and former CNN contributor who just left to go to Fox News.
In this video from a local Georgia TV news station, Wrightsville Police Chief Paul Sterling says he say the security camera video, and “no store clerk has the right to do what was done in this instance here.”
There’s a fine line, perhaps, between punishment and chid abuse. There’s zero question that while it may take a village to raise a child, no one has the right to beat a child, and no one has the right to discipline someone else’s child.

Go ahead. Hit my kid. I dare you.
Aha! Here we see the real culture of violence. Something bothers me, therefore I’ll hurt it. These aren’t the people making movies, they’re the ones raising bullies and abusers.
