Michelle Shocked last night performing in San Francisco, reportedly told the crowd that “God hates fags” and that she lives in fear of same-sex marriage. Needless to say, the audience was furious and walked out on her performance.

Shocked is considered an alt-folk singer whose career has spanned three decades. She reportedly was arrested in a 2011 Occupy protest eviction. “One source who was there swears her comments were meant sincerely,” notes Michael Musto at the Village Voice.

This makes me so sad. Michelle Shocked was one of my favorite singer/musicians back in the day. I still remember one of her concerts in Austin as being terrific. Sorry Michelle, but your dispicable hate puts you off my play list forever.

Following news that celebrated American folk artist Michelle Shocked was quoted to have stated that "GOD HATES FAGS" at her recent performance in San Francisco I have made this video in the spirit of the right to reply and freedom of speech & personal expression I want to be absolutely clear in stating I mean NO HARM to Michelle Shocked But I am disgusted and appalled by her remarks and it is that context that I hereby state "FAGS HATE MICHELLE SHOCKED!"
