Pat Robertson is warning that Christmas is in danger of being stolen by atheists, whom he says are “miserable” and “unhappy” and want Christians to be miserable and unhappy too.

“The Grinch is trying to steal our holiday,” Robertson laments, claiming that “atheists don’t like our happiness, they don’t want you to be happy, they want you to be miserable, they’re miserable, so they want you to be miserable, so they want to steal your holiday away from you.”

Robertson neglected to mention how atheists are planning to “steal Christmas.” Perhaps they’ll dress up as Santa then slide down everyone’s chimneys and put everyone’s Christmas presents and the tree into a great big knapsack and slip away into the darkness.

As long as Cindy Loo isn’t around…

Christmas was already stolen by every major retailer. Ask a kid what Christmas means. I can guarantee you foratleast 95% it will not be little baby Jesus. It will be Santa Claus and presents. This battle was lost decades ago if not a century ago. They get in a snit over the word "Christmas" but fewer and fewer people see it as anything more than a time to get together with family. It is not atheists, it is society as a whole. With each generation a smaller percentage of people in this country identifying as Christian this is not a surprise. Funny how he blames it on atheists. Are there not Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and other religions that couldn't give a rat's ass about Christmas either?

Now that the unelectable Mormon is gone, the only grich that will steal X-Mess is Gingrich, who can be expected to run again in '16 to sell his latest book. Seriously, these people turn the First Amendment into a pretzel whereby they can violate IRS regulations and preach politicians from the pulpits and those who say otherwise violate their freedom of religious rights. X-Mess is a capitalist commercial goldmine having only so much to do with the Jesus guy as one wants to invest in it, just another example of Seneca's sagacity in noting that the wise are in doubt at least; the fool believes, and the politicians, TV pundits, and lobbyists find God profitable.

When I'm worried about someone stealing something from me, I take it into the house, hide it from view, and lock the door.

He also neglects to mention that those "Christmas" traditions of decorating trees, caroling, and exchanging gifts during the winter solstice were stolen from the Pagans.
