This is such a great post about the RI bishop. Thankyou for shining this light on the dangerous path now being taken by our Catholic Church.

Excellent article! This is the Bishop from RI. The same Bishop who dictates to our Governor Carcieri on affairs of state. Same Governor who refuses to sign marriage equality laws, even though the state General Assembly is willing to pass them!

There are a multitude of stories and photos showing the Governor at religious political rallies and more. The Roman Catholic Church in RI is grossly overstepping its boundaries. Abortion is the hot topic today, but it extends deeply into all matters of state including marriage equality and more.

This reminds me of "First they came ...", the popular poem attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller. Worth a read if anyone reading this comment is not familiar with it. Don't get me wrong, I'm neither anti-religion nor anti-God. I just believe in the Separation of Church and State, and lately the Church has stepped grossly and squarely into issues of the State.
