DOMA has yet again been ruled unconstitutional, by a federal court of appeals in Manhattan this morning, in the Edie Windsor case. This is the eighth federal court to declare section 3 of DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996 that bans the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages, unconstitutional.
The decision this time was not unanimous, with one judge on the three judge panel dissenting.

The dissenting opinion was made by a homophobic bigot. There isn't any other way to describe the judge. He doesn't believe that gay Americans should be considered a suspect class that has had discrimination aimed at them solely because of their sexual orientation. He also fails to acknowledge that procreation has never been an obligation or a requirement to getting married. He also doesn't explain exactly why marriage needs to be "protected" from gay citizens, or what harm gay citizens will do to "marriage" if they are ALSO allowed to marry.
