Reports now state up to eight people shot, and the shooter is in fact dead. Reports also state there is no terrorism-related activity, and that the shooting may have been part of a robbery.
Five people were reportedly shot this morning at or near New York City’s Empire State Building. Police and EMS are on the scene and the shooter was reportedly shot dead. Reports from multiple sources, including CBS New York.
This follows a shooting late last night in NYC of two people in Harlem.
Meanwhile, in Chicago, 19 people were shot in several attacks, including eight in one incident.
“Two of the victims are 14- and 15-year-olds; both are at Comer Children’s Hospital being treated for gunshot wounds. One of them was shot in the arm. Another was shot in the back of the neck,” ABC News reported this morning.
