By an 8-2 margin, Vermont’s House Judiciary Committee voted in favor of a popular same-sex marriage bill this morning, advancing the legislation to the full House for debate Thursday.
Despite a constituency that favors gay marriage by 58% to 39%, Republican Governor Jim Douglas has promised to veto the bill. Already, the Governor has received over 1500 letters, mostly in favor of the legislation.

This is great new. Way to go VT!
I just hope once everything is said and done that the Senate and House have enough votes to overturn a veto.
