Bryan Fischer, the public face of the certified anti-gay hate group, American Family Association (AFA), yesterday published an official statement for the AFA on Wednesday’s shooting at the Family Research Council — and included a shocking lie.
Ignore for a moment his comment, “The left’s war on religion and Christianity has now gone from symbolic to literal,” Fischer lies by stating:
Yet the SPLC has consistently used dangerously misguided language in classifying the Family Research Council as a “hate” group with absolutely no foundation. They have repeatedly and without cause demonized FRC, and have spent years stirring up anger in the homosexual community and directing that anger toward an organization whose only crime is to promote and defend the classic American values of faith, family and freedom.
[Bolding ours]
Fischer, who believes it’s his duty to Christ to steal the children of gay people and same-sex couples and send them on an “Underground Railroad,” also stated:
Disagreement is not hatred. We don’t hate anyone. In fact, we love homosexuals enough to tell them the truth about the risks involved in their lifestyle choices. But for those who hate the truth, the truth will seem to be hate.
[Bolding ours]
Fischer’s shocking disregard for not only truth, but for the intelligence of his readers is appalling.
For the record, the Southern Poverty Law Center states the reason they include the Family Research Council in their list of Active Anti-Gay Hate Groups is this:
The FRC often makes false claims about the LGBT community based on discredited research and junk science. The intention is to denigrate LGBT people in its battles against same-sex marriage, hate crimes laws, anti-bullying programs and the repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has written extensively on the Family Research Council (FRC), and explained in many articles exactly why they added the Family Research Council to their list of anti-gay hate groups.

Unfortunately, hate groups got an assist from Dana Milbank at the Washington Post.

SIGN THIS PETITION AND REPOST IT ALL OVER THE PLACE. TELL WASHINGTON POST COLUMNIST DANA MILBANK THAT WE WILL NOT STAND FOR HIS ENABLING OF ANTI-GAY HATE GROUPS. BE SURE TO READ THE PETITION TEXT. http://tinyurl.com/bw32rp5
Wow, Bryan Fischer told some lies. Imagine that.
BTW, Milbank's piece is a whitewash of FRC. Almost totally fact-free.
Hmm — do I see a pattern here?

I say we need to defund the ignorant. I'm a firm beleiver in free speech, and Religious Freedom is sacred. However, I think we need to not allow those who spew hatred, to be able to obtain a 501c3 charity status. Because charity is about helping those in need, not spreading the word of "hate thy neighbor". Sign my petition, please. You can find it at; http://signon.org/sign/stop-the-funding-for
