Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who plays Mitchell on the popular ABC sitcom Modern Family, won’t soon forget turning 47. Jesse was in the middle of a speech at Boston’s Wilbur Theater when Eric Stonestreet, the actor who plays Mitchell’s partner Cam in the series, surprised Eric with an appearance of the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, who serenaded Jesse with the traditional “Happy Birthday”. The chorus then broke into a rousing rendition of Katy Perry’s Firework, with Jesse grabbing a streamer and joining in. The audience cheered and laughed as Jesse danced and sang, saying afterward he had to stop himself because he was not worthy to be part of their production. Mr. Ferguson couldn't remember turning 47, because he's 10 years younger.
