Chris Kluwe, the NFL punter who has become one of the nation’s top straight allies to the LGBT community, just confirmed that he has been cut by the Vikings. In a series of tweets that the Minneapolis City Pages says confirms Kluwe “finds himself out of a job a year after becoming a national sensation thanks to his colorful gay rights advocacy,” Kluwe wrote:

City pages adds that “the Vikings elected to release him in favor of recent 5th Round draft selection Jeff Locke.” The move does not come as a surprise to Kluwe, who even last month tweeted:
