I had the honor and pleasure of attending Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s speech yesterday at the New York City LGBT Center. Iraq war veteran Lt. Dan Choi, who was discharged under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” introduced the Senator. I’ve also seen Lt. Choi speak at New York City’s Pride Rally in June. He is an impassioned and important voice for our community. Check back later for video of her full remarks. (And forgive my iPhone video!)

Can't wait to see the video (blocked at work)! One correction: Lt. Choi isn't quite discharged yet. Still waiting for the final decision from the Commander of the First Army and the chief of the National Guard Bureau.

For once, I'm thankful for red tape!

I have always thought that the current LGBT fight for rights is The Civil Rights movement of our generation. Wish I could have been there!
