Eric Trump: My Dad’s an ‘Alpha Personality’ So Bragging About Sexually Assaulting Women ‘Happens’
Says Clinton Will Dig Up Dirt ‘When Someone Is in Entertainment’
Donald Trump‘s youngest son is defending his father after a 2005 tape of the GOP nominee bragging about sexually assaulting women was released Friday. Eric Trump insists that his father should be excused after having apologized because he has an “alpha personality” and this type of behavior “happens” when guys get carried away together. He then blamed Hillary Clinton for the tape’s release, even though there is zero evidence of that.
“I think it’s locker room banter,” Eric Trump told volunteers in the campaign’s Denver, Colorado office Monday, as The Gazette reported. “I think sometimes when guys are together they get carried away, and sometimes that’s what happens when alpha personalities are in the same presence. At the same time, I’m not saying it’s right. It’s not the person that he is.”

Many coaches and professional athletes have condemned the classification of Trump’s remarks as “locker room banter,” saying they’ve never heard, nor would they stand for, talk like Trump’s that was exposed in the tape.

The younger Trump also told supporters, “my father apologized for it. He was right to apologize for it, and I’m glad he apologized for it.” He then tried to turn the tables to attack Hillary Clinton.
“At the same time, if you look at her track record with women, it’s horrible. It’s absolutely horrible.”
Clinton’s track record with women is actually extraordinary. Her support from women is exponentially higher than Trump’s. And she has worked her entire life to help women and children.
As a U.S. Senator, Clinton sponsored 712 bills, and co-sponsored 2676. The word “child†appears in 513 of them.
“I think that’s Hillary going low,” Trump continued. “I think you’ve seen that for a long time. If you look at her track record with women, I think you saw that yesterday with some of the people we had sitting at the debate. It’s horrible. She’ll dig out dirt on someone from 15 years ago when someone is in entertainment.”
It’s unclear why Eric Trump thinks Clinton had anything to do with the tape, or what other people “in entertainment” she’s supposedly dug out dirt on.
Raw Story’s Erin Corbett writes, “Add ‘alpha personalities’ to the list of excuses Trump supporters and surrogates are making for the Donald’s gross disregard for women.”
