Espada: Marriage Could Take Years.

New York State Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada, Jr., in an interview in Spanish with local TV station NY1′s Noticias, states, “gay marriage could take years.”

He also discusses the budget, and Senator Hiram Monserrate’s sentence to three years probation for a misdemeanor battery against his girlfriend.

I want to remind those of us in the Lgbt community of the facts. It could take years..true. Also true that it could happen way before. Depends on what Senators are in place. Senator Espada ALSO said that we must remember that the marriage equality bill has been voted on and passed by the Assembly 3 times. That same assembly represents the same constituents as their representative Senators. So please remember to not believe the hype ! It is the intent of National Organization for Marriage to try to wrestle hope away from the Lgbt community not ours! .
