If you visited Facebook this morning, you could have joined “I HATE GAYS,” “Kill All Gays,” and “AnTi GaYs!!!!!!!!!!!!!” — just three examples of many anti-gay hate groups that called Facebook home. But no longer.
This morning, at 11:30 AM EST, I published, “Facebook Or Hate Book?” and listed a total of fifteen anti-gay hate groups that called Facebook home. Tonight, around 8:30 PM, a reader commented, “I noticed many of the links are no longer valid. I hope they are gone for good.” And so I checked. Indeed, he is right! Of the fifteen anti-gay hate groups I spotlighted, all but three are no longer on Facebook. I’d call that a success!
Groups like, “STOP AIDS!!!!! KILL GAYS AN NIGGERS!!!!!!!!!,” “GAY ? news flash : we fuckin’ hate you !!,” and “Ban Same-Sex Marriage” are gone. I can’t promise they are gone for good, but I can say, “Thank you,” to Facebook, and to all you who shared the post via Facebook, Twitter, Buzz, and your own blogs.
The three that are still active?
I’m against gay marriage, and I will not keep quiet about it!
and, strangely, join if you hate homosexuals.
Together, we can do something about anti-gay hate groups!

Facebook is really good about removing this groups once they become aware of them. Any time people spot these (and they will pop up again), you can report the group to facebook with a summary of the pages content. Usually within a couple of days they are gone. Your blog post clearly quickened the pace.

I reported on all of them….They will pop up again, and again…and we will do it all over again..Thank You David for all you do…and yes thank you for the fast typing. LOL
I've participated a few times in "taking over" hate groups–overwhelming their wall with posts from people who express the opposite of the group's intended message. Typically the group is removed quickly as we all encourage our friends to report them. But it makes the remainder of the group's short life a party… a real sense of shared spirit and community. In the last couple days a friend has started a fb group dedicated to just this practice, called Responsible FaceBook users who join HATE GROUPS to CLOSE THEM DOWN! Group is growing quickly, and perhaps mentioning it here won't hurt…
Interesting. The "against gay marriage" one does not appear to be a hate group, though. People can be homophobic without necessarily being hateful.
Yeah, the anti-marriage group has one link – to the Landover Baptist Church! Looks like someone set it up to lure homophobes to the group and hope that they will click on the link and be mocked to their face.
I reported all of those groups.
The last three appear to be satirical. Their links are to LGBT-friendly websites.
Keep Queers out of America seems to be gone. I reported the other two.
This is absolutely disgusting and wrong on so many levels. I found this link in the facebook group, I'm against gay marriage, and I will not keep quiet about it. Please read this article and see if anything can be done about. it. Flat out lies!! Here is something that is said on the article

First off, I want to say that I love your work. Please keep doing what you are doing!
Facebook is FULL OF HATE content that it REFUSES to take down. Facebook is a multi-million dollar company, and some of its shareholders are soon to be billionaires. Can one honestly think that the company cannot afford to hire 2 more employees who sole job is to monitor hate content on their site? Facebook's failure to act is not 'an oversight' that needs attention. Facebook is an UNETHICAL company.
Please consider your relationship with facebook. Thousands of people are quitting because of privacy issues, but thousands of others are quitting because of racism and bigotry issues:

Facebook has tons of content against Blacks and Muslims that it REFUSES to take down unless a government tries to intervene. The citizens of Pakistan took to the streets to plead with the government to SHUT FACEBOOK DOWN because of the numerous anti-Islamic groups that facebook REFUSED TO SHUT DOWN. Doesn't that say enough about the ethics of facebook?
This does not even address all of the anti-Black, anti-Disability, anti-Christian, content on its site that once again, facebook refuses to take down because the content supposedly 'does not violate facebook's terms and conditions'.
Again, it's up to each person to decide what their relationship is with facebook. I would love to provide evidence of this hate content for those who are interested. And trust me, there is PLENTY of it.

Its like the American college of pediatricians, who say gays are pedophiles etc. A hate group made up of about 200 religious freaks who put hate and prejudice ahead of medical science.
Compared to the American acadamy of pediatricians = 60,000 strong who say that it is perfectly natural to be gay, and it is an inborn trait just like being str8 is an inborn trait.
