“Professor” Rick Santorum, who repeatedly shows up at colleges across the country, trying to school students that hatred and bigotry are the lessons they need to learn, today got schooled by students at New England College in Concord, New Hampshire, about same-sex marriage equality.

In this video, Santorum tries to mold the “debate” — which he initiates but as soon as anyone disagrees he changes the rules — to marriage being heterosexual only. As soon as he brings up love, you know where he’s trying to go.

Think Progress adds:

“So if you’re not happy unless you’re married to five other people, is that OK?” Santorum asked one student. “Reason says that if you think it’s okay for two [individuals to marry], then you have to differentiate for me why it’s not okay for three,” he argued later.

To be clear, Santorum’s offensive and circuitous responses are all meant to reject the natural desire of two same-sex individuals to join in a union and enjoy the same rights as heterosexual couples.

David Corn at Mother Jones delivered the blow-by-blow, and writes that “Santorum got to the nut of his argument: ‘God made man and woman…and men and women come together to produce children.’ And, he went on, when children do not have both a father and a mother, ‘we are harming children, we are harming society’.”

His bottom-line was clear: gays and lesbians are not good parents for the youth of the greatest country that ever existed. So no marriage for them.

When he was done, Santorum thanked the students for a feisty debate. Many booed him. And in one corner of the room an argument broke out between a middle-aged woman and a 68-year-old woman over unemployment benefits, with the older woman saying she was sick of working hard to pay for others not to work.

Through it all, Santorum had displayed a friendly disposition, but he certainly had not tried to hide the sharp corners of his archly conservative beliefs. And he had hardly brought this crowd together.

Notice also that Santorum has never been successful in arguing his anti-gay ideology with any of this nation’s students.

Last year, in August, students at Santorum’s alma mater, Penn State, slammed him for his stance on gay rights.

Perhaps he should appear on, Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?

Santorum did you get your Intelligence and logic out of a Cracker Jack book?

I have never witnessed a more self righteous, sanctimonious prick than Rick Santorum. He does not engage in conversation– he bullies others with his beliefs. There is something scary and inhuman about the way he interacts with normal people. He does not listen, he scolds. There is so much hate and loathing just beneath his fragile surface. The thought of giving this seething monster the nuclear keys is so terrifying — I sense he would start world war three just to witness his own private rapture. Santorum is everything our founding fathers warned us against, and established our country to defend against. I don't believe in religion or the devil, but I believe ther are charismstic sociopaths like Santorum who operate on a level of pure evil — it is very clear he relishes the suffering of fellow human beings.
