Bryan Fischer chastised former President Bill Clinton today for claiming that DOMA is unconstitutional seventeen years after he signed it into law, claimed “homosexuals” want “inequality,” not equality, because pedophiles and polygamists cannot get married, and claimed “homosexuals can get married, everywhere, just like everybody else — to one, adult, non-relative member of the opposite sex.”
Fischer is the top spokesperson for the certified anti-gayu hate group, American Family Association.
“The constitution has not changed in the last seventeen years… so that bill, DOMA, is as constitutional today as it was then,” Fischer said.
Apparently, Fischer believes that all laws are constitutional if signed into law?
“Nothing has changed, except the rotting away, the deterioration, the decay, of America’s value system,” the 61-year old also claimed.
Fischer also falsely stated that “if the Supreme Court overturns [Prop 8], it just completely guts, it eviscerates the concept that power in America belongs to the people. The power to amend your own federal constitution or your state constitution requires enormous effort.”
“So if the Supreme Court sets aside Prop 8, they have just disenfranchised seven million Californians.”
Fischer has no idea what he’s talking about. If seven million Californians voted to make slavery legal, it would still be unconstitutional. It’s an ignorant argument with no basis in law.
He adds that if the Supreme Court does overturn Prop 8, they will have said to the people, “we are tyrants in black robes, you are peasants, you are ants, we are kings, we are emperors, we are tyrants — if we want your opinion, we will give it to you.”
“The whole basis for overturning DOMA is equality,” Fischer rants, adding that “DOMA is a beautiful piece of legislation.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the truth is plain, it is simple,, and it is unmistakeable: homosexuals already have full marriage equality in all 50 states… because homosexuals can get married, everywhere, just like everybody else — to one, adult, non-relative member of the opposite sex.”
“That is full equality under the law,” Fischer stated, adding:
“The reality is homosexuals do not want equal rights because they already have that. No, they want special rights, rights that are based exclusively on aberrant sexual behavior. They are in fact pressing for inequality under the law, since they demand a special carve out for themselves, that is not available to pedophiles and polygamists. pedophiles would like to marry children — they can’t, there’s no carve out for them. There’s no special rights for pedophiles to marry children.”
Fischer went on to claim there’s no constitutional right to “sodomy-based marriage” because there’s no constitutional right to sodomy.
Fischer concludes that if the Supreme Court overturns DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act of 1996 that bans the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages, America will “sink to the bottom of them ocean.”
