Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson recorded this video, in which he — shamelessly! — uses a cute puppy, an sings a cute song, to announce he’s getting married to his partner, boyfriend, roommate, Justin Mikita, and to announce he’s created a new foundation, Tie The Knot, in association with The Tie Bar, which “will release stylish collections of neckwear seasonally to benefit U.S. Organizations fighting on behalf of LGBT civil rights.”
Via a press release:
“Justin and I created Tie The Knot in the hopes that we soon see a day when millions of Americans across the country will have the basic civil right to marry the person they love,” said Jesse Tyler Ferguson. “When people purchase our bow ties, they’re raising funds that will help support marriage equality, and they’re doing it while looking damn good. I have been a big fan of The Tie Bar and have often worn their bow ties to various events so I am thrilled to be teaming up with them on this project. They have been a perfect companion on this journey bringing their savvy sense of fashion and high quality workmanship to the table. I can’t wait for people to see what we have created!”
This is going to kill Alec Baldwin…
Via Tie The Knot’s Facebook page:
Founded by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita, the goal of Tie the Knot is clear: to achieve marriage equality throughout the United States and to look damn good while doing it.
It’s simple: We will release a collection of neckwear seasonally thru The Tie Bar (www.TheTieBar.com), inspired by our favorite art, fashion, things we see on the street, and things in our living room. Each bowtie will be produced in limited quantity to inspire and promote uniqueness & individuality. All proceeds from the sale of the bowties will go to various organizations that are in the trenches fighting for the civil rights of gay and lesbian Americans every single day.
Now, about that cute puppy, does he need a home?…
