Donald Trump’s latest “rigged” election conspiracy theory involves mail-in ballots somehow being thrown away — presumably by election workers.Â
During a rally in the swing state of Colorado on Saturday, Trump said he has “real problems” with the state’s voting system — in which all registered voters receive ballots by mail before Election Day. Voters in Colorado can either mail back their completed ballots, drop them off at designated locations, or vote on Election Day at their polling place.Â
“I have real problems with ballots being sent,” Trump said. “Like people say, ‘Oh, here’s a ballot … here’s another ballot. Throw it away. Oh, here’s one I like, we’ll keep that one.’ I have real problems, so get your ballots in. We’re trying to have some pretty good supervision out there. We have a lot of people watching you people that collect the ballots.”Â
Later in his speech, Trump reiterated: “I don’t love the concept of ballots.”Â
“I don’t love it,” he said. “Get those ballots in and follow your ballot. You can follow your ballot. Make sure that ballot is registered. Make sure that ballot is counted, OK? You know we’re dealing with a bunch of babies.”Â
As usual, Trump presented no actual evidence to support his claim.Â
