Calls Gay Community “Disingenuous,” Says “Children Are Not Puppies”

Mike Huckabee, ordained Southern Baptist Minister, Fox News host, perennial Republican presidential hopeful, compared legalizing gay marriage to legalizing incest, polygamy, and drug use, and called all of those outside of “the ideal” in a discussion at a New Jersey college.

Via MSNBC:

“You don’t go ahead and accommodate every behavioral pattern that is against the ideal,” he said. “That would be like saying, well, there are a lot of people who like to use drugs, so let’s go ahead and accommodate those who want to use drugs. There are some people who believe in incest, so we should accommodate them. There are people who believe in polygamy, so we should accommodate them.” Huckabee said civil unions are “not necessary.”

Huckabee added,

“I don’t have to prove that marriage is a man and a woman in a relationship for life… They have to prove that two men can have an equally definable relationship called marriage, and somehow that that can mean the same thing.”

Huckabee, whose daughter used to manage, “HuckPAC,” his political action committee, is obviously greasing the wheels, and trying to grease his coffers for his attempt at the 2012 election.

Here’s the list of everything Mike Huckabee has recently said he’s against.

  • marriage equality
  • changing the traditional definition of marriage
  • adoption of children by same-sex couples
  • civil unions for same-sex couples
  • gay rights in general
  • drugs
  • polygamy
  • incest
  • repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”
  • Mitt Romney’s Massachusetts health-care plan
  • Mitt Romney
  • Obamacare
  • RNC Chair Michael Steele
  • CPAC
  • Repealing DOMA
  • Separating politics from religion

Huckabee has also said he wants to “isolate” HIV/AIDS victims.

Does anyone remember Mike Huckabee being for anything?

Lastly, remember this choice quote from Minister Huckabee:

“I believe it’s a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that’s what we need to do — to amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards rather than try to change God’s standards so it lines up with some contemporary view.” (“Huckabee: Ban Gays, Free Murderers And Rapists“)

Mr. Huckleberry what about the seperation of Church and State? Should you come into power (with your evil laugh) and impose your so called Christian standards on everyone will your churches also start to pay Taxes? As I seem to recall, and of course everything has a literal interpritation with you, Jesus himself said, "Pay unto Caesar what is Caesars" So why Mr Huckabee do you recieve exemption on taxes for being a minister? According to your own theory you will be burnining in hell with lesbians just like me. Dont worry sir, I will save you a seat!

I do seem to recall that the standards of the Christian church state that we are supposed to love one another. I think that Mr. Huckleberry plain old forgot that one.

Mike,

We were really behind you and your thinking until today…We are the parents of two young adult girls. Both are the lights of our lives. Intelligent, beautiful, loving and funny. Beautiful babies, toddlers, children, teens. Inseparable even now.
The only slight difference is the youngest is attracted to and is in love with a woman. I wish you could know how it hurts for someone to tear your baby down. She is partly our creation and our pride. She has not CHOSE a lifestyle.

She is pure in who she is and what she feels. She is not aberrant, unnatural, or sinful. But it seems you are..who'd of thunk it?

Sit back and watch…SHE WILL BE ACCOMMODATED.You are a minority in your thinking.

She is a beautiful creation of God and there is not ONE thing HE or we would change about her.

Why doesn't he just come out and say it? He believes the United States should be a theocracy where those suffering from AIDS, gays & lesbians, liberals and all those not in his "ideal" would be sent to camps.

The only fair and just form of government, to people like Huckabee, is a theocracy. The Dominionism movement (Christian Reconstructionism, Seven Mountains theology, and other names) is active in every level of our government (and around the world) to literally (they believe) bring about the Kingdom of God(TM) on Earth, to establish "Biblical Law" in the land.

They're very vocal and make no bones about merging christianity (only their brand) and government, and using force to do it.

@Strombergs … wow! my eyes watered reading your post. … if only there were more parents like you …
