The Obama For America campaign team wasted no time in putting GOP presumed nominee Mitt Romney in the hot seat over his positions on civil rights for gay people. Comparing and contrasting President Obama‘s positions to Mitt Romney’s positions, the new ad touts Obama’s “evolution” on same-sex marriage, and takes Romney to task for not only not supporting same-sex marriage, but for not supporting civil unions, adding, “Even President Bush supported civil unions.”
The new ad even features a clip of MSNBC anchor and lesbian Rachel Maddow discussing Romney’s signing of NOM, the National Organization For Marriage’s anti-gay marriage pledge, and shows Romney speaking in support for “a federal amendment to the constitution defining marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman.”
And the ad lambasts Romney for taking a hands-off “states’ rights” approach to issues that all but the most right wing radical would call inhumane: rolling back the tights of same-sex partners to visit their loved ones in the hospital.
Romney is also facing a serious attack today over a report in the Washington Post that shows he was a gay-bashing high school bully:

Romney Minimizes Gay-Bashing: ‘In High School I Did Some Dumb Things’

Do you really think Obama cares about Gay Rights or is just trying to use it to get re-elected?
