Neither Wind, Nor Rain, Nor Dark Of Night Deterred These Citizens From Their Task

Less than three hours after today’s disastrous New York Senate vote, more than two hundred New Yorkers braved the wind, cold, and rain, and gathered under the bright lights of Times Square, to register their anger and disappointment towards their state senators.

Amid cries of “Gay, Straight, Black, White, Marriage is a civil right!” the crowd encircled Father Duffy Square, home of the new TKTS booth. A bright yellow banner, so large it had to be hoisted by dozens of protesters, christened today’s vote.

It read, “NY Crime Scene.”
