The New York Post today claims — not in an op-ed or editorial, but in a “news” story on page 13 — that CNN host and veteran journalist Anderson Cooper came out because he is “desperate for attention.” The Post, conservative Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation’s carbuncle on the face of journalism, writes:
Left-leaning cable network CNN has dropped to a 21-year ratings low, making Anderson Cooper so desperate for attention, he surprised no one by coming out as gay.
Network suits want to point a finger of blame for Soledad O’Brien’s 37 percent loss of eyeballs, Piers Morgan’s 29 percent ratings decline, and Cooper’s abysmal 19 percent loss of viewership, compared with last year.
CNN could always hire Ann Curry, who was scapegoated for the “Today” show’s ratings dip, then fire her.
Time to face reality. Viewers can get all the leftist propaganda they need elsewhere.

In May, British Members of Parliament, after an investigation into News Corp.’s phone taking scandal, said the media empire’s chairman, Rupert Murdoch, who also owns Fox News and the NY Post, “is not a fit person to exercise the stewardship of a major international company.”

What garbage! I remember Anderson Cooper reporting out in the field since the First Gulf War. He maintained such a level of professional reportage that it never occurred to me he was gay. I hardly think over the years this has given him cause to seek attention.
He's always been a favorite of mine; coming out and "publicly proclaiming" he is gay does not change my attitude towards him. To me he is the same excellent reporter as he's always been.
Rupert Murdick needs to find a giant boulder and go crawl underneath it and just stay there. Freakin' hypocrite, the lot of them!
