NY Senator Addabbo: “Marriage Equality Transcends Just The Issue Of Equal Rights.”

Step right up folks! View the circus that is the New York State Senate! New York’s Senator from Queens, Joe Addabbo, who has repeatedly said he is on the fence on marriage equality, and who reportedly took a good deal of money and support from the LGBT community, and who Wednesday voted against the same sex marriage bill in Albany, said today, “marriage equality transcends just the issue of equal rights.”

Via the New York Daily News:

“To this day, I have kept my personal belief out of it, and it’s still personal,” he told reporters following a City Hall press conference at which he and Sens. Liz Krueger and Bill Perkins unveiled proposals to end runoff elections.

“It’s a personal belief. It is my belief, and it’s only my belief,” Addabbo continued. “I voted, again, the will of the people in my district.”

“First and foremost, I am very thankful to everyone who got me to where I am as a state senator. I am grateful to all those in the gay community that supported me – whether it be financially or with the hours of volunteer work. I’m grateful to them, but never once did I say to anyone or any particular entity what my position was on the issue.”

“So, I would only have been truly a disappointment if I said I was going to vote ‘yes’ and then certainly did not.”

Yes indeed, folks. “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

He took the money to get his seat as a Senator and now is trying to act conservative to get re-elected. A double cross at best, traitor to the other good senator's who voted for Marriage Equality. His excuse he polled is constituents, and they didn't want Marriage Equality, I don't believe it. This was one of those opportunities where a senator has to do do what is best for the minorities within his constituency. He let the entire state down in doing what is right,

I hope next November we can talk about Mr Addabbo as a 2-year NY State Senator (and every minute of each was to much)

Today gay marriage is legal, tomorrow homosexuality is normal, and the day after that homosexuality is the dominant norm. Next comes bisexuality – remember the alliance is LGBT – so will we then have to accept polygamy? After all, don't Mormons and Muslims have the right to practice their religions? You might argue that just because a bisexual person is married doesn't mean she or he will be any more unfaithful than a heterosexual person. Consider the recent popular song with the female singing, "I kissed a girl and I liked it". And just last week I heard on NPR that the latest word among young ladies on college campuses is that their education will not be complete until they experience a threesome. Now we come to the T – the transexuals. I shudder to think of my grandson considering it quite acceptable to change his sex , and does so, really because its the latest thing to do and not because of some birth defect. NO, NO, NO, NO! I don't want these "social changes" legitamized..
