Rush Limbaugh: Iowa’s Gay Marriage Decision Is Like The Soviets. I kid you not. The GOP leader Friday, said, “For how many years were they talking about gay marriage? How many years were they talking about demonizing the SUV? That started in 1995. Here it is 14 years later, and they’re on the verge of doing it. Liberals don’t stop. It’s like the Soviets.” Yeah. Right.

As I learn more about Iowa I find that they have been on the forefront of fairness when it comes to civil rights. I wonder what Rush's reaction would have been in the 1800's when Iowa's Supreme Court ruled that a slave that stepped foot on their soil was now a free man? What would have said when just a few years later Iowa ended segregation of the races ruling the separate but equal was not in fact equal? Or, heaven forbid, in that same century they allowed a woman to put on shoes, leave the house and become a lawyer, what would he have said then? These are all things that we now take for granted as being fair and just under the law. Gay marriage will eventually be treated in the same manner as all of these other things, regardless of how Rush and the right-wing groups feel about it.
''Gay marriage'' is a farce! it's an abomination, vile affection. Marriage is between a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others. It is a dispicable and unnatural act for persons of the same sex to claim that they are ''married''.
An "abomination, vile affection"? It seems to me that you already had the hate in your heart, "American man," even before gay marriage, and the only reason that it is a "big deal" is because of bigotry fanned by that very same hatred you and people like you propagate I pray you find some peace and true understanding, though judging by your horrific comments, I doubt it.
If that's how you feel, then I suggest that you not marry a man. But for a gay man or a lesbian to enter into marriage with a person of the opposite sex is, IMO, an abomination. It is a betrayal of self, the living of a lie, and in the end, only causes heartache for all involved.
