Oklahoma lawmaker Sally Kern characterized gays as “dangerous,” “sinful,” and as “an enemy who wants to destroy us,” and said gays have hijacked freedom and equality “to destroy the future of America.” Kern was speaking with the head of the certified hate group, Americans For Truth About Homosexuality, Peter LaBarbera on his ”Americans For Truth Radio Hour.”
Kern has been on a tour promoting her new book, “The Stoning of Sally Kern: The liberal attack on Christian conservatism-and why we must take a stand,” when she recorded the interview with LaBarbera, calling gays more dangerous than terrorists and comparing the attacks on 9/11 to HIV/AIDS.
Brian Tashman at Right Wing Watch, who first reported Kern’s comments that gays are “more dangerous” than terrorist attacks, offers the transcript and audio below, which he says is “put together a compilation of the most troubling statements from the second part of her interview with LaBarbera.”
LaBarbera: I believe the organized homosexuality movement is an evil movement, its organized sin. It’s taking what God says is wrong and pushing it literally as a right, as a civil right.
Kern: Well I think they’re trying to get the moral high ground and of course America was founded upon freedom and equality, and so they’ve hijacked that…. And as I’ve said earlier, I think they play up on freedom and equality. Sure we want everybody to have freedom and equality, but there should not be freedom and equality for sinful actions.

It just blows my mind when we have evidence, statistics like you’ve just read, that show how dangerous the actions of homosexuals are, and yet we want to continue to teach this to our children? What kind of a future are we going to be giving to our children and our grandchildren if we continue to promote the homosexual lifestyle to them? We are sentencing them to a life of disease, premature death, depression, you know, it just blows my mind.

There are always consequences to our actions, always consequences to our actions. And we will suffer the consequences of violating God’s moral law, which never changes. So that’s the issue. Are we going to believe that there is moral law that never changes, or are we going to be politically correct thinking that we can just do whatever we want? Because we can do what we want but we will suffer the consequences.

If you have children or grandchildren, if you believe that America has been a great nation and you want to see it continue to be a great nation, now is the time to wise up and rise up about what’s going on in America. We do have an enemy who wants to destroy us. They are using sexual perversion to destroy the future of America, the future of our children, and we don’t have a minute to lose.
Of course, the logical first question is, “we don’t have a minute to lose” to do what, exactly?
Make homosexuality illegal?
Lock up the gays?
Stone them?
What does “wise up and rise up” actually mean, Sally?
What, exactly, is Oklahoma Representative Sally Kern suggesting “we” do?
Because to me, this sounds like Oklahoma Representative Sally Kern is inciting violence. That’s what this sounds like to me. ”We don’t have a minute to lose” and ”wise up and rise up” sounds like someone is suggesting armed insurrection against gays.
Irresponsible comments, especially from someone in a leadership position, a position of authority, like a priest, or a rabbi, or an elected official, are unacceptable.
“I do believe they are the equivalent of hate speech,” Fred Sainz of the Human Rights Campaign told MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts of Kern’s anti-gay comments on Wednesday, and added that “these kinds of statements lead to the fact that gays and lesbians can still be fired in 35 states across the country for their sexual orientation or in 41 states for their gender identity. There is also an epidemic of bullying across this country, and we believe there is a responsibility on our part to call out the statements by Representative Kern as not only inaccurate but as being incredibly injurious to a civil dialog in this country to the barriers to equality.”
Currently there is a petition and a drive to remove Kern from office. As The New Civil Rights Movement reported this summer, it’s not the first time, but this looks like they have a chance. Intolerance is always looking for a way to perpetuate itself. Kern and those in her sphere of bigotry see they are slipping away and will be lost in the dark pages of human history. Their desperation causes them to lash out. Watch carefully, I’ll wager more ugliness will come from them.

Referencing her religion's tradition of hyperbole and myth Kern claims a victim's suffering without showing the wounds. That she would use such a description for herself when such a condemnation is still used in the world for capitol punishment, shows the lack of intelligence she's so proud to display. People who are stoned do not live to write a memoir about it. She cries the crocodile tears to drum up sympathy and campaign dollars.
Intentionally making herself a celebrity, she disingenuously feigns amazement that anyone would call her out for the lies she tells, further adding to her self-proclaimed victim-hood.Sally Kern never gives up about telling lies that represent her own twisted attempt at projecting her own fears.
If I were a fundie, preached Inquisitional nonsense, and in addition, had a possible gay/lesbian family member, I'd probably be doing the same thing she and her husband, Steve Kern, do.

I have thought Long and Hard about this Issue and This is What I think…The struggle between Straight and Gay People Is Just a small part of A much Bigger Problem.
But In essence Sally Kern I think Is being Responsible Even If her Choice of words Leave much to be desired.
she is being Responsible in the sense That she Is Highlighting a fact and the fact Is from a christian and moral perspective, homosexuality Is wrong.
If you take the time to study The Bible you will see that god condemns 'men who lie with me' and you can be sure the same applies to lesbians.
also the system we are living in is temporary and one which is ruled behind the scenes by our and god's number one enemy Satan.
hence why Jesus Christ Preached what Is the good news of god's kingdom.
it is god's kingdom that will Ultimately destroy and replace Satan's corrupt system, with a new system in which the things that are the norm such as homosexuality and wars disease and even death and suffering will be no more.
but in order to qualify to live under such a system we have to take action now by becoming a dedicated christian and join those that preach the good news of god's kingdom.
so that when God takes action against Satan's system, you won't go down with it but instead your lives will be preserved.
under god's system homosexuality will not be permitted and when he brings Armageddon soon all those that openly or secretly practice homosexuality will be destroyed.
but that will not be the only reason for loss of life…it will ultimately be because they failed to obey the good news of gods kingdom.
so again sally is right to tell the truth that homosexuality is unacceptable and morally wrong in gods eyes, but there are many more things that are also wrong in gods eyes, like wars, lying, greed, stealing, false religion, evolution, racism, etc etc, if we are meant to be on whole a christian nation, then those things should cease to be practiced because that is the proof that we have put on the new personality that conforms to gods christian standards not satan's.
trust me even things like Christmas is wrong because the bible does not say that we should celebrate the birth of jesus neither does it say what day or month he was born on.
the christmas celebration is rooted in paganism and over the centuries has been moulded or weaved into so called christian celebrations.
but christmas is not a true christian celebration and we can be certain that it is not acceptable to god or jesus.
but yet churches everywhere promote it every year.
also the clergy teach us about Hellfire…yet there is no Hellfire…when a person dies they don't pass on into a place of everlasting torture and torment.
the bible does not teach that at all…so again that is another example of the wrongs that people have done in the name of christianity.
so again really, homosexuality is just a small part of the many big problems in human society.
and even if sally kern managed to convert homosexuals and lesbians etc…she would find that it does not end there because they would and should also become Christians…True Christians and forever after take a stand for gods ways warning young ones to avoid things like same sex relationships but also avoid unchristian things like the christmas celebrations etc.
