Rick Santorum, speaking in Plano, Texas last night, claimed that the so-called Obama war on religion will lead people of faith to the guillotine — a remarkably ludicrous comment suggesting that Obama wants to behead anyone who disagrees with him.

“What’s left in France became the guillotine,” Santorum said, referring to the French Revolution.of the late 18th century. “Ladies and gentlemen, we’re a long way from that, but if we do and follow the path of President Obama and his overt hostility to faith in America, then we are headed down that road.”
Santorum and all the presidential candidates believe they have found a winning argument against President Obama in supporting the Catholic Church’s opposition to businesses owned by the Church to have to provide free contraception services — just like every other business with an employee insurance plan in America.
And for the record, a new poll shows a majority of Americans, 55%, support Obama’s decision to require religious-owned institutions to provide equal services like contraception.
“The former Pennsylvania senator — who has spent the last several days criticizing the government’s requirement that insurers provide contraception coverage and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal’s decision striking down Proposition 8 — accused the administration of ‘crushing’ religion and setting the United States on the path towards executing religious people by decapitation,” notes Igor Volsky at Think Progress, who offers this transcript and video:
SANTORUM: They are taking faith and crushing it. Why? Why? When you marginalize faith in America, when you remove the pillar of God-given rights, then what’s left is the French Revolution. What’s left is the government that gives you right, what’s left are no unalienable rights, what’s left is a government that will tell you who you are, what you’ll do and when you’ll do it. Mr. Santorum, please show the country some direct evidence of this, IN AMERICA. However, there is PLENTY of direct evidence that your hostile anti-GLBT attitudes and rhetoric leads to discrimination, gay bashings and killings of LGBT people and suicides of GLBT youth.
in his view, GLBT are worthless and expendable people.
After Obama specifically mentioned what he thought Jesus would think about how to address income inequality!
What else does this guy run on but."FAITH FAITH IM A BELIEVER!! This is not going to fix our economy.
