Rush Limbaugh‘s advertisers are having a tough day today. They have to decide whether to weather the severe firestorm the unofficial head of the GOP sparked this week when he decided to attack and slander a 30-year old woman, calling her a “slut,” a “prostitute,” and demanding she post online a tape of her having sex “so we all can watch,” the 61-year old talk radio host told his 20 million weekly listeners. So far, three advertisers have canceled their advertising and dropped their support of Rush Limbaugh’s show. The first was The Sleep Train, and just a few hours ago, Sleep Number announced they were dropping Limbaugh also. Just minutes ago, Quicken Loans announced it had “suspended” its advertising on Limbaugh’s show as well.
Think Progress has a list of other advertisers and whether or not they’ve made public mention of their positions. Looking at their Twitter accounts, so far Think Progress reports “Technology company Carbonite, online legal service LegalZoom.com and automotive company AutoZone have all been quiet on their official accounts.”
Perhaps we have Brian Dickerson at the Detroit Free Press to thank. Seven minutes before they posted their suspension, Dickerson posted an op-ed which ended with this:
Detroit-based Quicken Loans, which California Congresswoman Jackie Speier identified as one of Limbaugh’s key sponsors, attempted to wait out the furor.
“While we do not condone or agree with Mr. Limbaugh’s statements regarding Sandra Fluke, we respect his right to express his views,” Quicken Loans spokeswoman Paula Silver said in a prepared statement.
Silver said Quicken buys radio advertising adjacent to a wide variety of shows, adding: “In no instance does Quicken Loans ever have any control of the content or comments of the shows.”
That’s the sort of language an advertiser’s legal advisers are happy to sign off on.
But if some yahoo your company paid to sell its products had just called my daughter a whore on national radio, I’m not sure I’d be satisfied.
It’s impressive that ordinary citizens can pressure large corporations to do the right thing, despite the fact that very few Republican politicians have denounced Limbaugh’s comments.

Apparently, Mr. Limbaugh's drug addiction has addled his brain. While he usually seems out of control, this latest demand for a sex tape from the woman, no matter whom she may be, is proof-positive that his 61-year-old brain is suffering from early dimentia due to his addictions. I am surprised he has not requested a tape of Santorum having sex with his wife…certainly that would really get him off. Aren't we all just waiting for him to go the way of Breithart or whatever his name was? These poor people… just not in their right minds…well, at least one of them is dead.
Where are all of you planning to hide after you destroy the USA? Do you think your money will save you? Study history if you believe so, and you will see; whatever occurs, no one and no group will be exempt. Certain religious sects behead innocent women, promiscuous women, gays, lesbians, Christians, Jews, molest children and call it right and good, and bask in their power and glory. In the USA we have been insulated and safe for many years, you need to live in a foreign country (or maybe you already are?) and talk about their government and the people there the same way you talk abut the U. S. and see what happens to you. Be brave in a foreign land as you are in the USA, and do be sure to keep us posted! The Beatles said it best, "All You Need Is Love!."
Losing money will make this guy squire, after all that what the whole show is about.
I am a graduate student, and not only does this young woman need to tighten up her panties, she is also short on ethics and brains. Prescription birth control at any Wall-Mart store is only $5 per month, and at Planned Parenthood birth control costs $75 per year. Obviously knew the true cost, she was twisting the truth to fulfill a sick agenda. This stupid girl absolutely be put on notice by her school for willfully lying to Congress, and her ethics need to be called into question before she becomes an attorney. The people of the United States must rise up against this laying liar!

She wasn’t testifying asking for pills for herself for sex. She testified about her friend who was denied coverage even though she needed the pill for medical reasons. Maybe you should have listened to the testimony yourself before passing judgement, but you probably don’t understand anything unless it passes through Rush Limbaugh’s drooling maw.
PS, no sleep from studying caused my post to be missing a word or two, but my point is made. She also did not think about her future, she will now have to tell her children about how she was not only a student of ill repute, she will have to admit she was stupid. The men that lie about with this genius are worse than she is, they are obviously taking advantage of the stupid, which borders on criminal activity. My friends tell their boyfriends "No Glove, No Love" this dopey dumb-bunny with loose underpants needs to do the same.

Hey gradstudentgirl, it's not about sex. Her friend had ovarian cysts. Birth control pills shrinks them with the best possible outcome. They can grow to grapefruit size which can destroy her ovaries and fertility. No women deserves that. Rush just picked the parts of the story that furthers his agenda. He's a hateful pig, plain and simple.
