Tina Fey says she’s tired of having to listen to “grey-faced men with $2 haircuts” telling her what rape is. The seven-time Emmy Award-winning actress and writer was speaking Wednesday at the Center for Reproductive Rights Inaugural Gala.
“I wish we could have an honest and respectful dialogue about these complicated issues. But it seems like we can’t right now. And if I have to listen to one more gray-faced man with a two-dollar haircut explain to me what rape is, I’m gonna lose my mind!”
Fey took great exception to Congressman Todd Akin‘s infamous remarks about women not being able to conceive “if it’s a legitimate rape,” saying the U.S. Senate hopeful is “confusing the phrase ‘legitimate rape’ with ‘competitive gymnastics’.”
Akin is running for U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill’s Senate seat.
