Tonight, the 24th annual GLAAD Awards will be held in New York, at Times Square’s Marriott Marquee. I’ll be attending, live-tweeting, and covering the event!

There will be a pre-event beginning at 5:30 PM EDT, and the awards dinner begin at 7:00 PM.

Notables tonight include Anderson Cooper, who will be receiving the prestigious Vito Russo Award, from none other than Madonna! The show tonight will be hosted by Sam Champion, Lara Spencer, and Josh Elliott.

Also attending are Bernadette Peters, Brendon Ayanbadejo, Debra Messing, Dan Stevens (“Downtown Abbey,”) Milla Jovovich, Ellen Barkin, John Leguizamo, Russell Simmons, Scissor Sisters Jake Shears, Baby Daddy and many more.

Again this year, The New Civil Rights Movement is honored and extremely grateful to be nominated, along with an excellent group of journalists, in the “Outstanding Blog” category. Our fellow nominees include Autostraddle, blac(k)ademic, Rod 2.0, and last year’s co-winner (with Mombian), Towleroad.
