FiveThirtyEight creator Nate Silver tweets, “Kind of striking that Romney has NEVER led in the national polling average, even though the race has usually been very close.” And when you think about it, it’s not just “kind of striking,” but kind of freakish — Romney has been running for president for about six years now.

Silver’s FiveThirtyEight, by the way, is published by the New York Times.
