How far does the equal marriage philosophy extend? Does it include the woman who wants to marry her dog in California? See what happens when the door is barely opened……it can never be closed.

Edward Davis May 27, 2010 at 7:12 pm

Marriage is a contract. Can your dog sign a contract? No, can a child sign a contract? No.

Evan Hurst May 27, 2010 at 7:17 pm

And this is why you should probably continue to live in Cabot where you won't have to deal with the big scary city of Little Rock, which is full of gay people. I mean, heaven forfend you might actually meet a gay person and realize you've been talking out of your ass this whole time.

Love,

Me.

Can an animal consent? No, I didn't think so either… Your point is moot.

Andres May 27, 2010 at 7:20 pm

Your argument is horrifically flawed in more ways that one. In South Korea, a man married his pillow. Same sex marriage isn't even legal over there and homosexuality is generally shunned in the mainstream media. Here's the link:

I could marry a pillow, too. The point being that the marriage would not be legal as a pillow could not consent nor could it sign the marriage license. The fight isn't over gays being allowed to marry. They already can. It's over legal recognition of their union on a federal, state and local level.

Oops, sorry Sean — that was directed at CabotAR. Just showing him the double standards. But yes, your response is 100% correct.

What Edward Davis said. I mean, I'd add something, but…dogs can't sign marriage licenses. Neither can ducks, goats, bears, etc. The end. There's really no argument there. It's asinine.

Given the fact that one of Obama's miscreant czars wants to extend the right of counsel to animals, I'd say the door is indeed open for Fido to end up on a marriage certificate. In fact, Obama's entire retinue of deviants (Jennings of fisting curriculum fame being just one example) makes legal sanction of bestiality not the least bit unthinkable. Overtly open homosexuality has always been the harbinger of a dying civilization.Bestiality fits right in.

Evan Hurst May 27, 2010 at 9:21 pm

Said "RSassy."

My goodness. Things only morons do:

1. Talk about Obama's "czars" like they're a new or scary thing.

2. Talk about Kevin Jennings in relation to fisting, since actual, grown-up news sources can tell you what actually happened, in the big boy real world, as opposed to the retarded fundamentalist imagination land world.

3. Make statements like "has always been the harbinger of a dying civilization," when it's obvious that the commenter's grasp on history, reality, science, reality, reason, and reality is so clearly tenuous.
