Just moments ago, on the news that military recruiting facilities have been told to accept openly gay applicants, Lt. Dan Choi, the poster child for “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal, tweeted, “I’m gonna try to enlist in the Marines today. Anyone else can meet me at NYC Times Sq now.”

I just spoke to Dan–he asked me to go with him, which I had to decline because I am at work. But we strategized and I urged him to attempt to enlist as a Marine with Arabic linquist ability. We thought that trying to enlist would be the best approach, because as an officer Congress would have to reactivate his officer's commission. Go Dan!
