At tonight’s Super Bowl, just before the kick off, 26 children from the Sandy Hook Elementary School choir were joined by Jennifer Hudson to sing, “America The Beautiful.” In December, a crazed gunman shot and killed twenty first grade children and six adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Hudson, who came to fame via American Idol in 2004, lost her mother, brother and nephew to gun violence in 2008.
