Ann Romney recorded a totally puff-piece video interview which was uploaded to YouTube by the campaign — then removed, according to Buzzfeed:
The saddest rapid response… The Romney campaign just uploaded a video with the title “Ann Romney to FOX31: Mitt Doesn’t Disdain the Poor.” UPDATE: Apparently the campaign has removed the video from its official account. UPDATE 2: Original video from Fox affiliate added.
The question is, why?
Here’s the video — you decide.

"We're" running?
And the old "…taken out of context" argument.
Got it.
Too bad his wife is more articulate than he is.
I listened to that video. It smacks of "let them eat cake". We all know what happened to the first person who said that. (Marie Antoinette) I still believe that this man has nothing but disdain for the poor and down trodden. Odd since he espouses Christianity. Guess he did not read in Saint Matthew's gospel that Christ said "As you have done for the least of my brothers, so you have done for me".
The statements from Mrs Romney that Mr Romney "cares" about the poor rings very insincere and is more damage control that anything else.
I listened to the entire recording so I have the entire context. When Mr Romney states that the 47% feel entitled to food, housing and health care and he doesn't "care" for them speaks volumes. Anyone who lists FOOD as an ENTITLEMENT has no care or concern for the needs of the poor. The fact that he would say this only to a closed group of the wealthy, speaks volumes. And the fact that the audience said nothing about this dismissal of the "entitlement losers", speaks volumes about the character of those that support this self-absorbed, power hungry candidate.
To the folks who see social safety nets as an unneeded burden on America – food is a RIGHT, shelter is a RIGHT, and anyone that would chose to turn their backs on those most vulnerable in this society, are the a glaring example of what is wrong in America.
Mr Romney – food is as RIGHT, shelter is a RIGHT – just because you are unwilling to pay even one dollar to assist the needy does not make the vulnerable unworthy. All it does is show you for the elitist, uncaring Twit that you are.
Just shut the hell up already, Lovey. Leave the campaigning to your husband Thurston Howell III.
What a load of old rubbish……misunderstood……listen to the whole statement you will hear exactly what he said………..We know exactly what he thinks of 47% of the population………and that includes all the people on Medicare or Social Security. What a slap in the face to the millions of people who worked all their life to earn these benefits.
There is no misunderstanding or out-of-context manipulation going-on here. I. too, listened to the whole recording and it is very clear what Willard is saying. This man is not ready for leadership and his wife is so out-of-touch with reality as to be inadvertently funny. So Willard had a friend with a sick kid and he looked-after them; big deal. As holy scripture says, Even the heathen love their children and would not give them stones for bread. What does Willard think about the people who are not his personal friends? He thinks they are caught in a culture of dependancy. BTW that 47% includes the vast majority of our military who are low-wage earners as well. Once again, Willard shows how little he cares for them.
She doesn't sound authentic. At all. And she actually looks bad. She's hunched forward, toward the camera.
"We… we, uh, use Ann sparingly right now so that people don't get tired of her." — Mitt Romney
Too late.
