What is the legal definition of marriage? “In the original statutes of marriage in the US, it was allowed between a husband and any number of wives. Interracial marriage was forbidden. Divorce was forbidden in almost all circumstances. Contraception was forbidden between married couples. The wife automatically took the surname of the husband. Ownership of property belonging to a woman was automatically transferred to her husband. Married women were forbidden to work in most, if not all occupations.”

I've been following this blog for some time now and have it as one of my features on my page. I live here in Memphis TN. where there was a huge rally last week against our city passing ordinance which would serve as anti-discriminatory laws to protect the LGBT community.
I wrote a post about it at my blog this weekend. It was met with much debate surrounding this issue but mainly about same sex marriage. I would love to hear your thoughts in response to my post and or some of the comments. I think this post above itself speaks volumes.
