Ivanka Trump has heard the rumors, and wants to put a stop to them. The First Daughter and Advisor to the President has been widely thought to be her father’s first choice to replace outgoing UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, who announced earlier today her resignation.
And President Trump didn’t help quell the concerns, telling reporters his daughter “would be dynamite,” and mocked those who would accuse him of nepotism, “even though I’m not sure anybody more competent in the world.”
Well, despite her father’s predilections, Ivanka Trump says she will not be the next UN Ambassador.
“It is an honor to serve in the White House alongside so many great colleagues and I know that the President will nominate a formidable replacement for Ambassador Haley. That replacement will not be me,” she tweeted late Tuesday afternoon.
One word in her tweet stands out: formidable: “inspiring fear or respect through being impressively large, powerful, intense, or capable.”
That is how the Trump administration sees diplomacy.
